Today is the day the 14th Amendment was ratified.

The 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which established the citizenship of African Americans and guaranteed due process of law, was ratified on July 28, 1868.

"I am America. I am the part you won't recognize. But get used to me. Black, confident, cocky; my name, not yours; my religion, not yours; my goals, my own; get used to me.

---Muhammad Ali
