I may have to make me a bag or two...I've got a brown faux-suede dress that is wanting to be repurposed. I think this would be perfect!

If you're afraid of bugs, don't look at this. Genetically I must be a male, they don't scare me.

I was in college with her at UT. You know, in case you care.

So hard to read but great information to give someone who wants their cat to have "just one litter."

years, Mo finally became a rehab success story!

"I think that at some point in your life you realize you don't have to worry if you do everything you're supposed to do right. Or if not right, if you do it the best you can... what can worry do for you? You are already doing the best you can."

-- Joe Namath

Absolutely horrible...I read a book about a similar kidnapping. Shocking, to say the least.

Check out the first picture on this blog....yes, that is a naked butt on the right. That looks to me like Leslie Cochran - an infamous vagrant of Austin who also ran for mayor twice. Google him...he's well known (in this area) for his thongs and bikini tops. Any wonder the slogan is "Keep Austin Weird"?

YUMMY: Did I ever tell you that I want to be buried in mushrooms because I love them so much? Check this out! That's and OMG YUM! Speaking of yum, I so wanna try this Blueberry cake. CRAFTIES: Stitch Wars, Update on my crocheting project - I'm about a third of the way through the wool afghan and with the help of Mr. 9yo grandson, all of the yarn is wound into cakes. Phew...thought I'd never get it all wound. Once I get the afghan completed, this will free up a bin that sits in my home office. I plan on throwing it through a hot water cycle and fulling it somewhat so I have made it wider than normal and will make it extra long. Should be softer after that, too. It'll be pretty. I get about 2 rows completed every evening -- this is a treat for me after I've worked out and done a chore from the list. Judge (our cockatiel) sits on R- next to me and he likes to crawl around on my work and nibble at the yarn. I'm sure he smells the lanolin.
I want this blouse in adult size, please?! I love these bags - I may need to make me one or two.

Blueberries cake ~ It makes a delicious dense cake chock full of blueberries.

1 pint fresh or frozen blueberries
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, at room temperature
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Preheat oven to 325 F degrees. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
2. Rinse, drain, and dry the fresh blueberries. If you are using the frozen berries , no need to thaw.
3. Sift together the flour and baking powder.
4. In your mixer, cream the butter until smooth. Add the sugar and beat until smooth. Add the eggs, one by one, then the vanilla.
5. Add 2 cups of the flour mixture to the batter.
6. Dredge the blueberries with the remaining flour. I use a large re-sealable plastic bag for this, tossing the berries in the flour.
7. Stir in the coated blueberries and remaining flour into the batter. Transfer the batter to the pan.
8. Bake the cake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a cake tester inserted into the cake comes out clean.

Enjoy!

In 1994, Hurricane John formed off the coast of Mexico on August 11th, traveled over 4,000 miles while passing south of Hawaii, and finally petered out south of the Aleutian Islands on September 9th. It was the longest-lived hurricane in recorded history. Yikes!

"Speech has allowed the communication of ideas, enabling human beings to work together to build the impossible. Mankind's greatest achievements have come about by talking, and its greatest failures by not talking. It doesn't have to be like this. Our greatest hopes could become reality in the future. With the technology at our disposal, the possibilities are unbounded. All we need to do is make sure we keep talking."

-- Stephen Hawking
